About FG ALPHA

The intent of this service is for you to store and access your personal and private media across your devices. We do make sharing possible but the service is not optimized for this and it is not a focus for us.

This service is slowly being developed into something else, but the foundation is being built, for now a simple file system, eventually a fully decked drive comparable to others, and from there into something else. The file system and drive will not cease, so you can use them as they are, they will just serve as the basis of the future of this project.

Transparency about our infrastructure, for now.

Our entire infrastructure consists of two servers. One for cold storage, and another for db, api, processing, cache and hot storage.

Frankly: if disk failures happen, we do not expect to be able to retrieve lost data. So, until our infrastructure changes, we do not recommend using this service for reliable long-term storage. This will eventually change and this message will be removed or an updated version of it will replace it.
